The way to a man’s heart is usually directly through his stomach and this is very much the case with my dad, especially if I’m after something! Having been swept up in the craft beer phenomena, which is currently sweeping the nation, and with Father’s Day fast approaching, I’ve created the perfect treat to whisk up for your dad this Sunday.
My beer and walnut recipe tastes sublime slathered in butter or served with cheese and a good quality chutney.
300ml craft beer of your choice
300g multigrain bread flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
4 tsp. honey
60g of chopped walnuts
The Baking Bit…
1. Grease a 2lb loaf tin and pre-heat the oven to 180C.
2. Sift the flour into a bowl and add in the salt, baking powder and the chopped walnuts, mixing everything together using a wooden spoon.
3. Next add in your craft beer of choice as well as the honey and mix again gently.
4. Spoon the mixture into your loaf tin and bake in the oven for 50minutes, while you enjoy the remainder of the beer!
